Specimen Transport and Pneumatic Transport System Specimens should be placed in the self sealing plastic bags, the request form in the external pocket so that the urgency and tests are visible and the specimen bag placed in a secondary container (available on wards) for transport to the laboratory. High risk samples must have "infection risk" stickers placed on the sample and plastic bag. Note the pneumatic transport system at DCH SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR THE FOLLOWING TESTS: CSF spectrophotometry for subarachanoid haemorrhage. Any urgent samples collected at Weymouth Community Hospital SHOULD BE TRANSPORTED BY TAXI (arrangements via hospital switchboard).
